The answer depends on your electronic expertise and how much work you want to do. You may not even have room to keep the rear distributor. You can yank the expansion plug from the block and use a 240 dizzy. The magnetic type impulse coil used in 1975-82 distributors is perfectly compatible with aftermarket electronic ignition systems such as MSD, Holley, or even OEMs like Ford Duraspark or early Chrysler.
