Your glass guy had no record/kbowledge of the deal because (I think) it is not formally considered an upgrade. Has to do with us 240 owners knowing that the later models glass fits the older cars.

The newer glass will run quieter, will not have the chrome trim piece, and will require all the gaskets and sealant and stuff from scratch. Bricksters who have made the switch seem to like them.
