Well, I'm not entirely sure what's going on up there, but I know that 2 wires go down from the "T" plug. There are two spades that hook up to the 4th gear lockout. The heat tubing has an opening with a spade connector in it right at the reverse light terminal. The wire seems to have the spade in-line and the wiring continues down to the solenoid where there is a single spade that pushes on to the back. I could be wrong about the wire from the reverse light being in series with the solenoid, but it feels like the spade terminal does not end there but continues back towards the solenoid. IF this spade connector should not be on the reverse terminal, why is it in there? There is nothing else to hook it to.
I never removed the wiring harness from the gearbox and OD, so I'm not sure what's up, but it is as I found it when I pulled it from the 1800E.
Can anyone confirm or deny that the reverse light switch is part of the harness, or where this other spade connector should go? Also, can anyone tell me which wires in the T connector go where?
Also, I'm not sure that I need to rebuild this solenoid. I found a flat multi-wrench tool at Harbor Freight which finally allowed me to remove the solenoid and inspect it. The rubber seals look to be in very good shape. I'll have to test operation later this week, but if it is not working, I can easily get the solenoid out for repairs
