Thicker is NOT better because it increases the squish volume which does
NOT help reduce pinging. Go with the thinnest gasket available. 0.030"
or 0.8mm is what you want. Make sure both surfaces are good and clean
before assembling. I use a couple beheaded headbolts with slots in them
as guide pins on opposite corners of the block (when possible - clearance
issues sometimes prevent it when the engine is in the car.) to guide the
head down straight to the right location. This is a manual recommendation.
