B230K 700 1989

Similar VIN to ours- most 740's here would read YV1FX8847K2......
A bit later the 4th and 5th digits read FA (1990?) and then YV1FW (wagon) YV1FS (sedan) in 92 or so.

I think the 940 series reads JS or JW.

I think it's interesting that Volvo made so many changes to tailor these models to different markets. And I wonder what the rationale was for discontinuing the ZF trans for North America but keeping it in Europe?

You don't happen to know which cam profile was used in the E or K engines do you? US models received only the lowly M cam for normally aspirated cars, and the equally sad T cam for Turbo models.... both designed for emissions compliance rather than driving excitement.

I recently installed a B cam in my 92 NA and I'm quite happy with it! But I could be convinced to put in something bigger....
