Prepare for minus 25 C!!!!!!

If it was water in the fuel (that is obviously what you are thinking)... it would have been just as frozen at minus one.

Mine had an intermittent cold problem too - it turned out to be the common (internal) ground for the dual coolant temp sensor would occasionally open when very cold, causing severe flooding while trying to start. I did finally catch it with an ohmmeter one day recently (pin to pin reading was 2x proper with no continuity to ground). Replaced it just this past week.
