shaking/vibrating engine upon cold start up - normal? 200

If it's running on 3 cylinders, would there be sputtering, weird loud sounds, and the vibration be violent? It starts smoothly but with the vibration and rocking but then it gradually smooths out when warmed up. I was wondering if most 230F engines do that. Or do most of you guys have engines that upon cranking just jolts a bit and then quickly gets into a rythmn of sorts?
