I'm only familiar with 240s (though, had a '70-145sw as my first car, many moons ago), but this may apply.
Since you aren't afraid of rebuilding brakes, consider forming your own brake lines. A Bubble flaring kit can be found on EBay for about $20. On the 240s, Volvo used an alloy (Cu-Zn?) for its brake lines that I find better than the steel ones normally available.
You can get some decent lengths (front to rear) of brake line from a 240 in a PickNPull. Undercoating comes off with solvent. While you're there, you might find that the 240 Girlings are compatible.
