Solved! 700

It turned out to be the relay for the starter solenoid. I noticed corroded contacts and that it was dangling upside down. It had trapped water in it and corroded the coil. I opened the relay and got about 2 teaspoons of powdered rust out of it. A new Niehoff one ran $19 from Kragen. Starts are back to as sweet as usual.

BTW the only thing securing the relay in an upright position was a black ziptie, which didn't work too well - it had slipped out and upside down and started collecting water. Whoops. I think I'll blame this on Kruse Lucas too.

Thanks for the help.
