I'm with Ron on the ID. Sounds like the "Brake" light. I don't have one on my '67 but they are mounted on the 71 and 73 1800.

I'd suggest that you just try pushing down the contact button under the emergency brake lever and see if that makes it go away. If not, follow Ron's advice.
