Electrical issues 200 1984

What is a PUP? Given the context in which it was used, and the similarity to PNP, which is BB-ese for Pick-N-Pull, it is a junkyard.

240s use lots of relays, and whenever I visit a PNP I get a bunch just to have them in stock. 4-prong or 5-prong, and their respective bases, too. You ask if they need to be ordered? Dunno, never had to.

Central locking relays. If you pull out the glove box and look to the left, the first relay you see is the overdrive relay. Look carefully and you will see that there is a rail that runs across the dash from the glove box towards the speedo unit.

That rail is the mount for the central locking relays, power windows relay, and o/d relay. They have clips that hold them onto the rail.

If you can't get at the locking relays from that end, you will need to pull the center air vent, and maybe move out the top of the central control panel front and coin tray. Sounds like a bigger deal than it is. Allow a half day.

Good Luck,

Bob
