Engine Timing Question

Does the on board computer compensates for a slightly off-set dizzy timing?
i.e. if I'm 1 or 2 degrees off does the OBC on a '93 944T compensates for that.
the reason I'm asking is that my 944T feels lazy, has good compression (new head), runs and idles (700rpm) smooth, gets 20mpg city/hwy driving, allways starts no matter how cold or hot and if not run in 2 to 3 weeks.
Is it timing or a worn camshaft or something else?
I do not have a manual, but what are the specs for timing. (I know that answer is probably in the FAQ)
Much obliged.
