Turn single problems 200 1979

Hello-

I own a 1979 262C and have been experiencing some electrical problems when I go to use the turn single: when I lower or raise turn single stalk to indicate which direction I'm planning on turning, the appropiate arrow lights up but does not blink, the 'Fasten Seat Belt' indicator lights up along with a higher pitch than normal sound that accompanies the 'Fasten Seat Belt' indicator, followed by a jump in the tachometer needle (no effect to actual engine rpm's). No problem when I go to use the high beam or cruise control, also found on the same stalk. Do you think this is something that I could repair myself with a new part or should I definitely take it in for service.

Many thanks in advance for your time and help!
