95 940 No Start - The Saga continues.

The other thread was getting pretty deep, so I'm posting my results from today separately. For those who asked, it is a sedan.

After reviewing Art Benstein's excellent pictorial on the Regina fuel pump repair, I went to Volvo and bought a new pump and seal for the sender.

Got it extracted. Lots of problems getting the fuel filler hose out of the way. I finally just bent it down and used a piece of board to hold it in place.

Tomorrow I'm going to do some soldering on the sender unit. Putting in the new pump is literally a snap. There is also a new locking electrical connection on the top of the pump. The filter screen comes with the pump rather than the elongated one shown in the pictorial

Something I tried that worked pretty well was spanning the trunk with my creeper, resting it on the deck and the edge of the trunk in back. Gave me nice overhead access rather than trying to come up from the well of the trunk. Still pretty cramped, but a lot less contortion. A board would probably do as well.

Thanks for all of the posts that helped me get this project going.
Hopefully there will be positive results to report tomorrow.

Roger
