Yes I have seen it done. I sold some windows from a '73 to a friend in Sebastapol for that conversion.
240 glass will work also,but it is a little bit thinner.
I also have some good seals from a 70 with the rear 1/4 windows,if you want them. You will probably need to get the 3 M Mirror adhesive to re glue the latches to the swing out windows to retain full function.
The water tends to sit in the back corner with the one piece design and the full flow thru ventilation feature is lost.
