Trans model confusion... M400 in a 122 wagon?

George,

I have 4 allen bolts that attach to the threaded rear of the bell housing. The gear box has 4-dog ears that the allen bolts pass through to thread into the bell house. All physical indications tell me that this is a M41.... What is confusing is that the brass plate says that the model is a M400. The plate is not screwed into the trans but is riveted so I think it's original.

The question is... Would a M41 state M41 on the brass plate or is the 400-SERIES model inclusive of the M41? The fill is in the right place to indicate that it is a M41. I'm getting ready to order parts and I just want to be clear.

Thanks again!

Bill
