On my wifes 98 V70XC the check engine light was diagnosed as code 116, the coolant temperature sensor. So,I run out to Autozone and picked one up. I looked in the manual and find it's location under the thermostat housing but the connector plug is diffent than the one I bought. So back to Autozone and after a half hour it was determined I had the correct part. There is a temperature sensor switch that controls the temp guage and a sensor that communicates with the computer, ie. two different parts. THe sensor is Wells part no. SU5282 and has two flat or L-shaped spade connectors and the switch two round pin type connectors. My problem is that I can't find the location of the sensor. The sensor switch is located near the thermostat but where is that dang sensor located? It appears there is an error in the Chilton's manual and the computer database at Autozone. The manual and Autozone computer both show the location of both the sensor and the switch near the thermostat which is actually the sensor switch, not the sensor. Does anyone know where I can find the location of the sensor? I've looked all over with no luck. THanks for taking the time.
