Radio/CD Player question. 1993

I have a 1993 944T with a factory/dealer? installed Model CR-814 radio with cassette player in the dash and 6 CD changer in the trunk.
When the kids were driving the car after I bought it for them, this set-up worked great you put 6 CDs in and you can listen to YOUR music.
Then for a while the CD tray(cassette) would eject every time you turned the car off. With the cover door closed on the changer this was okay, but a hassle to open the trunk, push the CD-cassette in (with radio on) and be ready to listen again.
A couple of months ago when my last one went to college I took possession of the car again and found out it wasn't working and that the cassette with CDs would not come out of the changer when pressing the release. I checked voltage and had 12VDC to the unit. Took it out off the trunk opened it up got the rap and other CDs out. Looked for a fuse did not find any and put it back together but have nothing working.
Anybody know where to look next? The CD-cassette won't come out, therefore I can not load a CD.
Does anybody have a changer laying around they want to part with or know of one?
The radio and tape cassette and its functions work fine.
Please advise.
