Put a pair of Monroe's on the rear of my 1997 965 last week. Got them at Sears and let Sears install them, since they had a "Free Labor" deal. Went to Sears because of recommendations found here, maybe it was Poolman, don't recall.
Talked to the tech afterward, he described a very easy job. Two bolts each side. One bolt head has a rubber plug covering it, the other doesn't.
If it wasn't for the free labor deal I would have done it myself.
The shocks were $39.99 each, plus tax. The wife noticed the difference and likes the ride. I had noticed that when crossing a speed bump at a low speed the rear "bottomed out" when it was over the bump.
Things are a little easier, maybe, with the IRS system.
Good Luck,
Bob
