The short block is about 150# and one really strong guy can do that.
(It is easier with two.) (Helps if you don't mind getting dirty.)
If you start adding stuff (head, starter, alternator, manifolds,
flywheel, clutch, bellhousing, tranny, etc) you have to take that into
account.
I have installed a short block from below using nothing more than blocks
and a piece of rope to pull the engine forward when I finally got it
high enough on the blocks to get over the crossmember. Rock forward,
put another block in back, rock backward, put another block in front, etc.
I did this by myself.
