cold start issue 200 1992

With only 70K on the car, the fuel filter is fine. Don't waste the time and hassle on it (not as easy as it looks for a first-timer). Same for the Cold Start injector--it may not even get activated in a 65° garage, And it can be tested by unmounting, pointing it into a container, and watching for it to squirt when someone cranks with the key.

This doesn't really sound like a temp-related problem to me. And I'm not sure a bad AMM would magically improve when the engine warms up. Also, you don't have the 25A fuse mentioned below. Since '91, fuse #6 takes its place. Check it though for clean, tight fuse contacts. Same for the 2 smaller wires on the coil. Reseating them a couple of times may burnish off corrosion. AMM Plug too while you're at it.

Spend some time in the 700/900 FAQ (see --select shortcut-- menu button at top right). Your engine, FI (Bosch LH2.4), and Ignition (Bosch EZK) are common to those models, and there is a ton of info there.
A Bentley 240 Service Manual would be worthwhile too. Very well organized and informative.

When it fails to start, the first thing to determine is whether it's missing spark or fuel. Otherwise it's an expensive dart-board approach.
