My own 67 sporting a B20E or a B18B has 'bout 1/2" between the two. I do have an upgraded Volvo plastic fan, so maybe this is not a stock distance, but it is still quite close. I can barely fit a fan belt through the gap. A good reason for me to upgrade to an electric "push" fan at my next overhaul.
