Steering rack bleeding 700

I replaced the rack on my 1990 760 gle last week without first reading the faq on bleeding procedure, for the cam type rack, hence I now have trapped air that isnt going anywhere after a week of driving with a lot of vibration and pulsing.
I have tried with the wheels off the ground, turning from lock to lock to bleed the air out with out the engine running but it is never ending job trying to get to a state of no air bubbles appearing in the reservoir.
The engine is the b280 with the reservoir integral with the pump, anyone any experience on getting around the boo boo Ive made...cheers
