I'm glad I read all th eposts before literally saying teh same thing as AYE ROLL
The machine shop will magnaflux it for cracks to make sure they can freshen up a 'bad' head.
Any who, the leak is exclusively coming from the front of the engine?
You can wipe clean that Rubber 'O' ring and the rest of the area between the Water Pump and the Head that everyone has mentioned. run the car for a while and see if that is the only point of moisture. If it is, then just go for a Water pump of the 'O' ring kit.
It bothers me a bit that you mechanic started to question the Head Gasket after he already told you that was the problem.
I had pictures of te Waterpump 'O' ring that we are talking about but you have no e-mail address listed and I can never get pictures on these forums.
