Age
Carbon deposits
Different production dates
Repair history - (Which engine do you really have?)
Tune up variations
Carburator adjustment
What fuel did you really get?
How many miles do you travel?
Are the quality miles?
and about ten other things...
I'll feed my older Volvos (actually all of them) high test.
