High Mileage Badge program has changed

Does anyone correlate seeing a high mileage badge on an old Volvo with purchasing a new S80, S60, S40? Last I looked, stealership computers are needed everytime part needs replacing. Doubt if any new Volvo would make it past 5 years/60 K. So much for high mileage badges praising 'old Volvo.'
