Volvo should have just the valve, but try a recycler, the rubber ball inside seldom goes bad. I use 2.4 pounds of freon, but thats after a good vacuum and I push the charge in after. The machine is the only way to go unlees you have a good vacuum pump and can install 3 cans of freon without introducing any air into the system. Pauli
