Chalenging Question (maybe) 700

My brother-in-law was driving his 740 and hit a pothole on the street. The car stalled but would not restart. It cranked away but would not fire. Three hours later after getting help etc. he tried it again and away she went. Seems to us that the pothole jarred something electrical perhaps, but the question is what?
Is there any inertia switches for the car's fuel system like Ford has? The is a 90 NA by the way. Thanks Larry
