M400 140-160

The M400 and the M410 are good sturdy trannies but they have a propensity to
bearing damage that makes them noisy after about 100,000 miles. It does NOT
keep them from working OK.

If there have been lots of 164s in the land of Oz I would think there must have
also been quite a few M410s, as probably nearly half of them were so equipped.

Be sure you get the 164 pedal box and not the 140 unit. There are some significant differences and the 164 box is quite a bit better. I'm not even
sure the 140 box will fit. (Oops- just remember that you probably have a
right-hand drive car, so all bets are probably off on pedal boxes, clutch
actuation, etc!)
