I'll track down some of the non-heli options. That was the only insert I knew of and now thanks to the brickboard I have new options. Exactly the info I was hoping for.

My only hesitation with epoxy was whether it would hold up in that area with the heat cycles and aluminum.

I'll hunt around and figure out which option seems easiest, but I can always fall back on the helicoils as they are pretty easy to source.

In any case now that I have a commuter car I can tinker with the Volvo properly without having to rush it back together every weekend.
