Fuel pressure 140-160 1972

Wild guess #274-B......

Could it be that the pressure is actually consistant, but that heat soak into the sensor is altering its resistance, thus causing it to read a little off, and then after a few minutes of the fan blowing air through the engine bay, along with cool gas flowing through the fuel rail, it starts to read properly?

Connecting a mechanical gauge temporarily might help you narrow down the possibilities.
