i have an ailing '67 122. among other things, it has bad blowby, such that if i run that hose from the valve cover gasket to the air filters, the air filters get soaked with oil, from the vapor.

my first question is, what exactly is the function of that hose that runs from the valve cover to the air filters?

and second, as an alternative to sticking a tube on the valve cover and routing it under the car so the oil vapor blows out into the street, is there a way to capture the vapor and condense it somehow/get it to drip back under the valve cover?
