You most likely have a leak somewhere in the system that pulls the fumes off the tank by vacume after you start. This line runs from the tank to engine compartment.
After a code is set and after the problem is corrected it will clear automatically after so many "trips" if the problem does not re-occur. Or it can be cleared immediatly with the scanner. In either event it will keep coming back unless the problem is corrected.
