Jeff:
Good to hear that the humans are fine and the machine appears to have minor damage. Its scary stuff losing a ball joint and getting that sinking feeling - literally and figuratively. The good news is almost all of the front suspension can be done on jackstands with tools that you already have or are easily and realatively cheaply purchased.

I took the removed lower A arms with new bushings to an old-time alignment shop where they pressed out the old bushings and pressed in the new. Everything else was done in my garage without the aid of air tools. The work took about five hours including getting the lower A arm bushings done.
Virginia really needs to be towed if it cannot be repaired where it sits. Driving her now would be like making her run with a broken leg.
