Fuel Injectors not Volvo specific

Just a question I thought I would toss out.
Is there a Life on Injectors?
I guess what I mean is should I wake up one day and say " I got 300K miles on my car, it seems like it's running OK but I should replace my injectors."

I'm sure there is wear on the internals of injectors but the cars seem to Run OK. Maybe a small stumble at idle from time to time.

I have three cars that are just short of 300K, They are running good but I just wonder if I put injectors in if all of a sudden I would realize, " wow, the 'tight' nice spraying injectors put a little punch back in this old girl."

So, I'm looking for your thoughts.
