I am the brand new owner of a less than brand new 240 (1993 with 240k) and I have noticed this forum is excellent for help with little quirks. As I drove the car home for yesterday I noticed a couple things that I wanted to seek help for.
The power locks (all four, its a sedan) work perfectly with the key from outside the driver's door, they both lock and unlock. However, when I am inside the car and I pull or push down the driver's lock stalk, none of the other locks move. Occasionally I will get a click sound from the other locks when I lock the driver's door from the inside, but they don't go down. What could explain them working outside but not inside? Is this just the way the car was built?
Also:
The engine seemed to rise in temp very quickly (but noticed before it got into the red) when idling in stop and go traffic with the AC on, I turned on the heat to dissapate the engine, which worked, and had no other problems when I was at speed. Should I file this one under "just the way the car is" or does the overheat in low speeds with AC suggest there might be something that could be broken? I have already had a larger radiator or electric fan suggested, but are these neccessary? Tips or direction to other threads will help.
