Setting the ignition of a K-jet 700 1989

Hi everyone

First my 740 is a non-US market model . It came with a k-jet fuel injection system.

I'm trying to figure out the correct way to set the ignition timing. After reading through haynes and k-jet.org resources, I'm a bit confused especially as the resources found in k-jet org refers to the 240s. Seems the steps involved in setting the timing are

1. disconnect and plug vacuum hoses at distributor (from k-jet.org). disconnect and plug the distributor or control unit vacuum advance pipe (haynes) I have a block mounted distributor like any other 740. It has a hall sensor and no hoses. So question is where is this control unit vacuum advance pipe? Are they refering to the small hose that runs from the control unit to the intake manifold?

2. AC off

3. This is where the greenbook and haynes differ. K-jet.org says to adjust idle to 700-800 rpm, set timing then check for system leak etc. Finally after engine is hot (bold letters) adjust idle speed to 800rpm. Haynes just says to run engine at specified idle speed then adjust timing.

Appreciate any advice, thanks
