Mike:
If you haven't yet consulted the 700-900 FAQ , try it now, and search out the section detailing overdrive rebuilding. You'll find some helpful information there on unloading the drive train to facilitate the overdrive removal. As well, since I don't usually get much success when searching this site (my own fault, I'm sure), I always try a few combinations of search criteria on Google, and am no longer surprised at the variety of hints to be found there. I thought I had more, but that's it for now.
