"The one on the relay board, behind the fuse panel, is the fuel PUMP relay."

Yes, "PUMP relay" is the common term for the white relay, but it's much more than that. Besides the pump(s), it feeds power to the RSR, AMM, ECU, IAC, and O2 sensor heater. This can be seen by following the relay outputs in the Bentley/Volvo diagrams.

That may be why the 700/900 wiring Greenbook calls it "Relay, fuel injection".
