I like BC's idea about an AMM with heat stroke. I've had a couple B23F cars to fool with, but never had one that hot combined with a faulty airbox (or intact preheat tube!) to gain personal knowledge.
Pretty easy to check out. If not that, you might want to be sure the tank pump is working. If the main pump gets noisy, you can suspect it isn't being fed well. Fill up all the way. See if you still have the problem on a tank full of cool fuel. If that affects the problem, look toward fuse #5, the tank pump, or its outlet hose inside the tank.
The two relays, fuel and system, are not likely to have a problem unless water got inside them. But a clean 25A blade fuse and connection to the battery is important. Also be sure fuse 5 and 7 are spotless and not overheating.
