'76 242 fuel pump wiring

Can anyone tell me where to find the wires that go to the fuel pump? I disconnected them and dropped the tank to flush/clean it and can't find the wires that go to the fuel pump.

I have dropped the tank again but don't see the wires or even where they come back toward the tank.

Any help would be appreciated.
