I've been reading the brickboard 240 posts for awhile and don't recall instructions on overfilling AUTOMATIC transmissions. I only remember seeing posts on overfilling Standard (M46, M47) trannys. Did I miss them?
When discussing auto trannys the discussions have been about trying to put in the right amount of ATF for the ambient and transmission temperatures because proper fluid levels are critical for performance. Eg. KenC's posts.
From your post and the response, can I assume it is okay to overfill an automatic transmission and let it work itself out rather than go through the hassles of measuring temps and such?
