Hydrogen embrittlement typically affects steels harder than Rockwell C22.
Spot welds may be harder than that (I actually got a spotweld nugget in a piece
of 1006 steel up to Rc 37 by spotwelding it very hot with big heavy watercooled
copper electrodes) so it can be a problem. Unwelded body sheetmetal and other
soft items should be no problem. Electrolysis of springs should be followed as
promptly as possible by baking and you can do it at a lower temp for a longer time,
like maybe 190°F overnight. The higher strength the part, the more likely problems are.
I would NOT do that to a wrist pin, for example.
