Something else to consider 700

When you mentioned flooding, I remembered something. Behind the ash tray in my 1990 740, there is a strange little relay looking thing that shuts the gas off at the intake manifold I think, if the motor is not running within six seconds of cranking. It specifically senses whether the engine is running or not. It does this because the fuel pump is capable of filling the cylinders with gas in no time at all if the plugs aren't igniting the fuel. The gas washes away the oil and one guy I know claims this seized up his engine. When this relay fails, the car shuts down. However if you are bypassing it to get results, you'll do some major flooding. If you're stumped by a fuel problem, replace this relay as its failure will leave you roadside (it got me) and it deserves to be routinely replaced anyway. If you are bypassing it, you are without flooding protection.
