I had the same problem earlier this year. I pulled the glove box, and extracted the overdrive relay from atop the center console. I disassembled the relay, and reflowed the solder on the circuit board. The relay resumed operation. It appeared that there were at least 2 cold solder joints (icy appearence) and I have done the same repair on other relays since then. It works. Appearently Hella and Bosch use great components, but the labor stinks.
