Intermitten no start problem on 90 240

do you mean will not crank or will not start
if it will not crank for bad battery and starter cable both the pos. and neg. for tighens and green if you have a volt/ohm meter check ohms from battery post to starter post not the cable you should only have .1-.3 ohms and do the same with some one cranking the engine (unplug the coil)you should get no more then 1 vol then what the battery is( if the battery is 13.5v starter should 13 v)if not you have bad cables or starter
if you look in the middle if the firewall there is a plug with two wires just hangeing there if you connect one of them to the pos past if the battery the engine will crank if the key is on it will start

if the car will not start turn on key on to run the first mark do you hear the fuel pump run for a sec.do you hear the fuel pump relay click from the center dash or the glove box to turn the key to start do you hear nosie from pump or relay
if you hear the fuel pump with the key on but will not start check the ign system pull the coil wire ,crank and see if you get spark ,if you don't get spark
you may have a bad ign.mod. unit or the inpulse unit in the dist.they go out hot
if you have no spark or fuel on start but you have fuel on run check the crank pick up it's on the bellyhouseing below the head

good luck k.m.beef
