Adding a foot-operated high-low headlight switch. 200 1988

Good morning, Bob.

Find the wire that runs from the stalk to the Step Relay. The drawing I'm looking at shows that wire to be brown, connected to pin 31b at the relay. Parallel the footswitch to the stalk switch there. Use a new terminal connector and crimp both wires (the existing wire and your add-on) into the new connector to avoid cutting/soldering/isolating the splice. As you say, use a momentary switch with the other side of the switch tied to ground.

As far as the physical mounting, mount the switch to a plate and mount the plate to the floor with Pop rivets. Pull the carpet back to drill; else it will wrap around the bit and unravel.

Maybe my suggestion is helpful but I'll bet you've already got it figured out. ;-)
