Hi again, Interstition
I see that some new cars incorporate thermal circuit breakers in the lock
motors, and that there are some special protection circuits for the relays.

Tom, Did you get a voltmeter on the relay pins to see what's happening?
Listening for relay clicks is unlikely to deliver you from evil.
