M47 rebuild

Don't ask why, but I need to rebuild my '87 M47 trans. All went well (and by well I mean there was alot of cussing one smashed thumb and excessive use of the impact gun and press) until I got to the part where I need to remove the fifth gear on the main shaft. Volvo call for a special tool that looks like a half round puller.

Is there anyone close to Baltimore that has this tool??

Does anyone know of a better way to get the gear off??

Thanks to all!!

Andrew
p.s. I really hope to do this soon as the M47 that was in my '90 ate itself and My girl is now driving her old car (04 Ford Excursion, 16 MPG) so I really hope to get her back in the 90 245 Volvo (32+ MPG)
