940 rpm sensor code 900

Dear Anthony,

May this find you well. The OBD system may detect a signal fluctuation that is not yet large enough to disrupt things. You might buy a replacement sensor. Once you have it, gently wiggle the wiring harness. If the engine stops, replace the sensor, as it is going to fail. Soon.

If the crank / RPM sensor is the factory original, it doesn't owe you a nickle. You'll either change it at a time and place of your choosing, or you'll change it at a time and place not of your choosing.

I'd guess the OBD is giving you an early warning. I'll be interested to see if anyone else has found this code to be phoney.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
